Gold Medal Rower and Olympic Hopeful takes Verse to the Water.

Some athletes start in a sport as children and work their whole lives to get to the top. Others try many different activities, making changes throughout their lives only to find their passion a little later. That was the case with Kai Langerfeld; he didn’t start rowing until 2009 as a student at the University of Victoria. It wasn’t long before everyone could see Kai was meant to be a rower and he quickly starting travelling the world and winning big!

He competed and won gold for Canada in the 2015 Pan-Am games. Kai also won the 2012 Canadian National Rowing Championship to hit the record books with his Dad, who won the same event in 1978, making them the only Father-Son duo to ever do this.

With dreams of gold at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, we can’t wait to see what Kai can do and will be cheering him on here at Verse. Come and take a boat ride with Kai and Mya while we learn about the hard work it takes to reach your goals. He has some inspirational thoughts for anyone trying to reach goals, whether they are big or small.
